Question: How much will this cost middle school families?

There will be a technology fee very similar to the fee associated with the upper school laptop program. Students will be assessed the fee during both 7th and 8th grades and be able to take the iPad with them after their 8th grade year. The exact fees will be finalized when we get closer to the purchase date as a lot is expected to change in the coming months.

Per the 2012-2013 re-enrollment contract the iPad cost to parents is as follows: 2012-13 = 7th $400 and 8th $400 … and 2013-14 = 7th $400 and 8th $240

The total charged to parents after 2 years is $640. This includes all of the apps needed for class, a sturdy case, Apple care protection, and a 16GB iPad.

This schedule allows for rising 7th graders to keep their iPad at the conclusion of 8th Grade. There will be a "buy out" option for rising 8th grade students at the end of the 2012-2013 school year.

If there is a price drop from Apple between now and the time of purchase we will obviously pass savings directly to families.
